A Night with Fabulous Divas ❀◕ ‿ ◕❀
Hey Divas, I know that this blog post is long overdue, but here it is.
I first want to say a big Thank You to my diva in the "divahood", AllThingsFabulous101 for accepting the offer to host the event with me. She is even more lovely and fabulous in person. She is a great partner and I am truly enjoying getting to know her as a friend. Girl you (& your hubby) ROCK! :-)
Now I want to thank all of you Fabulous Divas that attended. We were truly blown away and humbled by your presence. This was the first meet and greet that Asia and I hosted or ever attended. We didn't really know what to expect. All that we knew was that we wanted to give all of you ladies a night to come together and truly enjoying the presence and conversation of other fabulous ladies. We truly hope that all of you that attended had a great time, I know that we did :-)
Here we are on our way to our meeting point in Times Square. We were sooo nervous, but super excited at the same time.
Welcoming all of the Fabulous Divas and letting them know the plan for the day.
First stop- Sephora
Followed by Inglots
And then Dinner
There were so many beautiful, intelligent, talented divas in one place, it would have been a single man's dream lol. These ladies were not playing, they had their hair done, nails done, everything did. They truly were fancy and were celebrating every aspect of "divahood."
We had a great time, from raffle giveaways, to games, and even a diva runway competition, A Night with Fabulous Divas was a blast. Although we had a few minor hiccups, all in all, especially for our first meet & greet event ever, I believe that it was a great success.
The winner of our grand prize. She received a lace front wig and instructional dvd, jewelery, makeup, black soap and shea butter, and gifts from iVi scents
There is no way that I can end this post without thanking the #1 man in my life, my hubby. He's always supporting and encouraging me in everything that I do. He as well as Asia's husband Terrell, were our photographers and videographers for the night. We want to say a HUGE thank you to you gentlemen for bearing with us through an evening of divalicious conversations lol, we truly appreciate it.
Thank you so much to all of our wonderful sponsors of A Night with Fabulous Divas. Thank you for believing in our vision and taking a leap of faith on two ladies from YouTube that enjoy celebrating all things fabulous and divalicious :-).
Thanks to: HairstopandShop.com, iViScents.com, SheaandBlack.com, RavenBeautyCosmetics, and DivaChic Jewelery.
To all of you ladies that couldn't attend A Night with Fabulous Divas this time, don't worry, hopefully you'll be able to attend our next. Our next one will be even bigger, more fabulous, and divalicious, so please continue to show your support. We don't have enough words to tell you how much we truly appreciate you and your support :-)
XOXO- Dolapo aka SongbirdDiva4Life :-)

For all of my natural divas out there, this is for you.... It's sooo cute. I applaud Sesame Street for showing young girls that it's OK to love your hair...whatever texture it may be.

OOTD- Terri's Birthday Celebration @TFBPC ツ
Happy Birthday Terri!!!!

So last night my hubby and I went to celebrate with our friend from across the pond, Terri. She had a birthday celebration at The Fat Black Pussy Cat, which is a type of club/lounge/ bar establishment on the lower west side of NYC. All of my friends know that I am not big on clubs, but if they are having a party to celebrate an important occasion such as a birthday, I will come out to show my support and celebrate right along with them.
Dress- Ali Ra @ Bloomingdales
I really didn't give any thought to what I was going to wear until it was time to start getting ready. I just knew that I was going to wear a dress. I love dresses, so I am always looking for an excuse to wear one.

Shoes- Guess by Marciano patent leather booties (Apollo really wanted to be in the picture (lol)
I purchased this dress about 3 years ago from Bloomingdale's. It was love at first sight (lol). At that time, I wasn't really into dresses the way that I am now, but even back then I knew that if I bought a dress, I wanted it to be unique. There were so many things about this dress that stood out to me. I loved the color, the detailing, the fact that even though it does show a lot of cleavage- it was still elegant, and it also has pockets. I love a dress with pockets.

Belt- Forever21
The pockets really came in handy at the venue. I hate going to a place where you can dance, but I have to carry my purse for the whole time. I feel like it limits my movements, so I left my purse in the car and only carried the necessities (compact & lipstick) in my pocket. My hubby was with me so he carried the really important stuff like cash and my id.
Here is the Birthday Girl in all of her Sunshine Afro Glory (lol)...

She also has the most Fabulous English accent. It makes everything she says sound posh and funny at the same time. If it wasn't for the fact that she is an attorney and financial analyst, I would swear that she makes up words sometimes...lol

It was actually lots of fun. Terri was a great host. She is so full of life. She has an energy that totally makes you relax and have a good time.
The band at The Fat Black Pussy Cat was INCREDIBLE!!! They played in the basement level of the building. It was totally packed when we got there. I would totally go there again just to listen to them. They performed a wide array of popular music, from hip hop to r&b, to pop, salsa meringue, to ballads. They always kept you on your feet.
They had a full band and about 5 vocalist. Each vocalist at one time or another led the band in his/her own specialty genre. Every vocalist had an incredible voice, I was truly blown away.
Here is just a snippet. It really doesn't do them justice because they were so dynamic and diverse, but I wanted to share a little something with you :-)

I had a great time, met some new people, and we rocked out Terri's birthday :-)
